 Issue 50

Narcissus

Hey dude...look around you!

Dear friend/follower/colleague/random social media or real life connection:

Because we're living in the me-me-me social media and self-reflective era, it's all about us (theONswitch) today.

Well, that's only somewhat true.  This issue may be about our labors over the past 9 months, but it's also about how we've birthed innovative ideas and helped clients prosper.

Want it to be all about YOU in the next edition?  Please contact us!  (Our newsletter circulation is close to 3,000 people ...and some of them are tired of hearing about US!)

gimme shelter!
where we live (and work and play)
We were just retained to market the newly-reopening Design Spree storehouse in Lawrenceville, NJ after Irene rudely rearranged its fabulous furniture inventory.  We just built an online press room for the brand too (because e-mailing press releases and photos to the media is just so yesterday!)  Join us and the Keno Keno BrothersBrothers on October 13th in the brand-new Maywood Store.

Need a place to put all that cool furniture and accessories?  Move on up to our client's buildings at 66main and METRO92.

We also helped Rock Hall get the word out through social media about their amazing year-round retreat.  The innkeeper is in the inner circle!

Shelter trend:  Families have gotten smaller since 1950 but houses are bigger.  More facts here.
sound mind...sound body...
and sound marketing too!

Yonkers Tennis Center looked to theONswitch to keep their marketing in top shape (including a recent event for10andUnderTennis 10 and Under Tennis with the USTA).

And we welcome our newest client in the health profession -- the dental practice of Asnis & Echelman.  Their patient-first philosophy and state-of-the-art care make us smile.

Health facts:  About 25 million kids are now overweight/obese and more than 19% of kids have untreated cavities.  Scary stats!
want to pay our rent?
of course not!

CloudThat's why we moved most of our infrastructure to the "cloud" in July -- meaning we have 24/7 access and you have marketing support from anywhere, any time.  You don't pay for lavish office space or fluff.  Skype, Google Docs, Ring Central, and a variety of Outlook (Xobni) and iPad apps mean you get what you need when you need it -- at affordable fees.

But we LOVE handshakes, eye contact, and even sometimes hugs.  So, we want to meet with you live too -- at your

office, our new space in Yonkers, on Eastern Long Island or Jersey -- and even nationally!  We're all about connection and convenience.

This year we introduced "nano marketing," creative print formats that use less paper, save money, and are kind to the earth.

And please say hi to the entire team here at theONswitch -- Afshaun, Lindsay, Sean, Scott, Marcelle -- and our newest intern, Melissa (from Elon University).

what's news?

we're putting the keys in YOUR hand!

We are teaching all kinds of e-marketing, social media, do-it-yourself PR and branding workshops, as well as doing one-on-one training.  (We even led a 900-person webinar this year!)  Our topics include:
  • making $$ with social media
  • e-marketing and social media best practices
  • who are you?  personal branding
  • making time in your life for social media (with Andrew Mellen)
  • not your momma's media: new PR
  • tweetorials (private sessions on the right ways to use twitter)
  • and others!  just ask!

branding) toasted to success this year, thanks to our collaboration.

And Horman's Best is rarely in a pickle these days. They are rolling out the barrels at farmer's markets in NY this fall.  We launched the Horman family's jar line earlier this year and secured major food media exposure.

Did you know?  Zagats now has food truck reviews?  Here's a history of the phenomenon!

TartsHave a new food brand, restaurant, food truck or tasty treat that's hungry for marketing?

We have the secret recipes for growth!

we're not kid-ding when it comes to youth marketing!.

From double-digit growth for Fashion Camp NYC's web traffic to the amazing launch of Destination FashionCampNYCScience in New York this summer (along with a cool new website and video), we know how to talk to kids and their parents.

We also helped "mature the marketing" for Camp Twin Creeks and education companies Inspirica (tutoring and test prep), Bertram (school advisory services) and G-tec Kids (gifted and talented program).

We continue to support kid-related causes like YPIE, Her Honor, and SCOPE.  Children are our future and we need to teach them well and feed their
minds and their dreams.

Can you cut class on an iPad?  Virtual schools are growing at a rate of 20-40%!  Here are more startling online learning facts and figures.

Speaking of youth...we're looking for some dynamic, positive, and self-motivated recent grads to help with a variety of marketing, PR, social media, and event projects this fall.  (Slackers, narcissists, and the hopelessly helicoptered need not apply!)  Send us your kids, nieces, nephews, and neighbors!
