2008 BROGLIA GAVI di GAVI 'LA MEIRANA'
Springtime and white wine are a match made in heaven. This Gavi di Gavi tastes like an angel sent to absolve any wine sins we may have committed drinking over the long Winter. Made from the cortese grape, it offers up unique flavors of perfumed peach, apricot and almond plus silky spice and a intoxicating floral aroma. A beautiful match with any fish dish, grilled, baked, or any way imaginable.
2007 THURSTON WOLFE FAMILY RED
Winemakers today have such an array of different grapes at their disposal to use as a palate when creating a Meritage or blended wine. Washington State wine wizards seem to lead the pack in creative blending and Thurston Wolfe definitely has a winner on their hands with their Family Red. Made with Primotivo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Lemberger, it displays dark fruit of plum, blackberry and black cherry, with a soft Asian spice and a touch of light oak. It excites the senses with a powerful nose, and its plush and jammy finish leave you yearning for your next sip. An affordable masterpiece.
2007 JUSTIN ISOSOLES
Year in and year out, one of the finest collectable wines to come out of the State of California. Dark purple/black in color, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot presents luscious silky fruit, with a backbone of roasted coffee, nutmeg, chocolate, vanilla and white pepper. Wine of this caliber should not be judged by its affordable price tag, rather for its regal quality, long aged cellar ability, and down right drinking pleasure.
2008 VERDAD ROSE
One of life's greatest pleasures is to come home after a hard days work, sit outside and enjoy the fresh Spring air, birds chirping, flowers blooming, with a refreshing glass of Rose at your side. Louisa Lindquist is a master at supplying the perfect Spanish varietal blend of Grenache and Tempranillo grapes from Edna Valley that offers juicy raspberry, plump strawberry and bright watermelon flavors with a crisp hint of citrus. Always a special treat to enjoy as a starter wine or with a meal of barbequed chicken, smoked sausage, or a thick turkey burger. |

DID YOU KNOW.................... that Chambertin du Beze was the favorite wine of the Emperor Napoleon. He was well known for sharing his wine with his soldiers, which he believed made them a stronger fighting unit.
WINE TRIVIA..................... How many different styles of Champagne, by level of sweetness, are there? The answer is 6, with Extra Brut the driest, then Brut, Extra Dry, Sec, Semi-Sec and Doux being the sweetest of all. True Champagne comes only from the region of the same name about 90 miles east of Paris, France. Use this table for the type of Champagne you prefer when buying your next bottle of bubbly. |
