Tasting Notes

Ca di Pietra Melrose Pinot Prosecco N.V.
Here is a wonderful way to introduce yourself to an Italian "Pink" Prosecco, much as in the style of French Rose Champagne. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the attractive nose leads you to fresh cherry, strawberry and rhubarb fruit, with a nicely balanced acidity. The aroma and flavors certainly grow on the palate, leading to a polished refreshing finish. Fits well with appetizers and cheeses but will show it's best muscle when served with a meal of fish or roasted chicken.

2006 Raw Power Shiraz

Hands down, one of the best value Shiraz you will find on the market today. Medium in body but packing lots of punch, the black currant, blueberry dark fruit sits up front while deep black pepper and vanilla satisfy the back side. With 14.9% on the alcohol, it is very well layered, concentrated, bold and what I call a creeper. If you like that big fruit, peppery, stain your teeth purple style of Shiraz, this one definitely is for you.

2008 Darby & Joan Cabernet Sauvignon
From the impressive portfolio of the R Wine Company and The Grateful Palate group of imports from Australia, here is one good, affordable, tasty Cabernet. It's smooth and easy drinking, the sweet fruit and non-tannic character type of Cab that goes so well with everyday comfort food. With plum, cherry and red currant fruit, a bit of licorice and toasted oak layered throughout, it's hard to find a reason not to like this juicy specimen. At half the price of most other popular brands done in the same style, it might be worth a try, and save a few bucks in the process.

2008 Menage A Trois Rose

It's Springtime and time to "Think Pink". Rose is what I mean, and there is no better way to watch the grass turn green, the tulip bulbs pop, and listen to the birds sing in harmony while sipping a glass of this velvet devil. Made from a combination of Merlot, Syrah and Gewurtztraminer, if offers up bright strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruit with a floral rose petal freshness that's like extracting the big flavors from a new piece of chewing gum. White Zin lovers, to educate and upgrade your palate, "Think Pink".

April 2010 Beer Values.
Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale
6 pack              $7.99
Moose Drool is our Brown Ale. Far and away the best selling beer brewed in Montana, Moose Drool is chocolate brown in color with a creamy texture. Our brown ale is a malty beer with just enough hop presence to keep it from being too sweet. The aroma also mostly comes from the malt with a hint of spiciness being added by the hops. Moose Drool is brewed with pale, caramel, chocolate, and whole black malts; and Kent Goldings, Liberty, and Willamette hops. It has an original gravity of 13 degrees Plato, and is 4.2% alcohol by weight, 5.3% by volume

Magic Hat Vinyl Lager
 6 pack              $6.99
VINYL Lager is a beer with a deep amber hue, sweet malt taste and a slight balancing hop touch. This beer is produced using a lager strain of yeast and is fermented at the low end of ale fermentation temperatures, allowing the beer to maintain its easy-drinking lager-like characteristics

Dogfish Head World Wide Stout
 12 oz. single                $7.99
World Wide Stout is one of the world's strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability).

Bell's Oberon
 6 pack                         $7.99
An American wheat ale made with European ingredients. Belgium wheat malt and Czech Saaz hops provide a spicy, fruity balance to this seasonal ale

Short's Smoked Apple Ale
6 pack                          $8.99

Pushing the envelope of fermented innovation. A light amber ale infused with seven bushels of apple wood smoked apples. An initial light toasted maltiness finishing strong of apples and notes of smoke.

Porthouse Oyster Stout
 330 ml single              $3.99
This gently flavored stout has a roast malt character, full body abd an aromatic character from Goldings hops. Fresh oysters added during the brewing process, lend a discernible yet unidentifiable note.
