2008 VERDAD ALBARINO
Each year, I highly anticipate the new release of this Spanish varietal which is made in the Central Coast region of California by master winemaker Bob Lindquist of Qupe fame. This white features fresh peach and tangy orange peel, with a nutty and tart undertone. From it's aromatic start to it's crisp dry finish, this is the perfect quaff on a hot sunny day. With less than 500 cases made, availability is short and sweet. Don't miss out.
2007 JUAN GILL MONESTRELL
Always highly rated, always a great value, always a crowd pleaser. This 100% mourvedre from the Jumilla region of Spain is loaded with dark fruit, full throttle black cherry and fig, with a nice spicy character of licorice and clove. It has a pungent floral aroma, a complex mix of coffee and chocolate, and a smooth texture that makes this such an everyday favorite.
2007 LESSE FITCH MERLOT
The movie Sideways may have made Pinot Noir the current "It" wine, yet Merlot keeps plugging along as a favorite of many wine lovers. New to this market, Lesse Fitch has made quite an immediate impact among those looking for a soft, easy drinking full flavored Merlot. Dark in color, it's sweet blueberry and juicy plum flavors coat the palate while the vanilla bean and hazelnut notes weave extra excitement. Generous amount of flavor for the buck, join others on the cutting edge of a new wine discovery.
2006 GUENOC RESERVE CHARDONNAY
This may very well be the white wine "Steal Deal" of the Summer. Straighforward clean in flavor and intensely fruit driven, loaded with tropical fruit of pineapple, peach, pear and apricot. It's multi-layered in structure, pleasing for those who like just a hint of butter and oak. Your friends will think you've won the lottery when you serve them a wine of this quality, but let this be our little secret....shhhhhhhhhh
..............it's only $5.99!
