2004 CALERA VIOGNIER
A Valentine's dinner many years ago introduced me to this wine and varietal. It knocked my socks off then and it overwhelms me to this day. Rich in tropical fruit, honey, peaches, caramel, vanilla, nectarine, and an intoxicating spice that finishes with an enticing floral bouquet.Only problem is that when the last sig is gone, you can't wait for that next occasion to wet your beak with one of the best Viognier's on the planet.
2004 ARTESA TEMPRANILLO RESERVE
The Rioja region of Spain comes to California in the form of this limited release Tempranillo. Bold in cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit, underlined with chocolate, vanilla, and a soft smokiness that simply glides over the palate. Not as earthy as it's European cousin, this juicy wine will pair wonderfully with steak, lamb, sausage, or a hearty paella.
2005 SILVER PALM CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Here's a wine that came out of the starting gate with a full head of steam and currently leads the race for one of the best under $20 Cab's on the market. Dark black currant dominates this very fruit forward quaff while hints of chocolate, vanilla bean, tobacco and espresso notes finish with very satisfying results. It's jammy character may come from small amounts of Merlot, Syrah and Petite Sirah added to it's finished blend. A proven winner and fan favorite that crosses the finish line with a Gold Medal.
2007 FRITZ-RITTER GEWURZTRAMINER
This Weingut in the Pfalz region of German has been making wine since 1785, so obviously, they must be doing something right. One of their finest examples is this sweeter style Gewurztraminer, loaded with bright rose petal, thick and juicy lychee fruit, a sensation of exotic spice, and a vibrant acidity that is sure to excite the palate. Add your favorite Thai or Asian cuisine to the mix and we're talking one mighty fine dining experience.
2007 JANA LEELANAU PENINSULA RIESLING The finest riesling's from Germany may have met their match with this new masterpiece.........from Michigan of all places. Bright fresh macintosh apple, pear, and just a hint of black licorice marry well with it's balanced acidity and crisp, dry, and refreshing flavors. A perfect match with many of Michigan's fresh ingredients and home grown recipes or treat your finest German cuisine to a taste of the Great Lakes State. |

| DID YOU KNOW...............that among the planting of fruit crops worldwide (apples, oranges, strawberries, lemons), wine grapes lead the pack. With over 10,000 different known grape varietals, it is easy to see why wine, in it's finished state, is the most consumed fruit in the world
WINE TRIVIA.................What are the top 3 State's in the U.S. in terms of wine consumption? That would be California, New York, and Florida. They may drink more, but us Michiganders drink better quality and are more knowledgeable than those three put together.
