January 2010 Information Sessions

The Acalanes Union High School District is offering six public information sessions regarding reductions essential to remain fiscally solvent.  District staff will review the depth and breadth of cost saving measures required to meet AUHSD's financial obligations.

District staff is developing differing scenarios as California's monthly revenues continue to fall below projections.  The Governor's mid-year budget statement in January will bring some clarity to district staff recommendations for Governing Board consideration.

While it would be nice during this holiday season to pose a brighter economic picture for the district and public education, the available options are reduction of program offerings and revenue enhancements.  State fiscal requirements for school districts require staff reduction decisions within the next two months.  AUHSD has no options other than to comply with legal mandates for the release of personnel.

Public information sessions are being held at a variety of times to meet the needs of our busy community.  All meetings will be held in the AUHSD Boardroom.
