Greetings!
It may be hot outside, but that hasn't slowed us down at TDG! We've hosted little girls in feather boas and tutus at our Fancy Nancy Tea Party book reading, our very own John Watts introduced our 70th Anniversary Lecture Series with his "Tales from the Dark Side" lecture on moths and summer campers have been visiting daily, exploring our gardens and butterfly house.
We appreciate those of you who have taken the time to support our programs and educate our visitors as they visit the gardens. This weekend promises to be another busy holiday weekend. We'll be open with extended hours on Monday, July 4th and free to the public from 4.30P-7.30P. If you have time to share with us on your holiday weekend, please sign up for a shift. You can always stay at the park into the evening for festivities and fireworks.

Three day holiday weekends are always a busy time for us at Texas Discovery Gardens. Join us this 4th of July weekend and help us as we greet and welcome visitors to our butterfly house and gardens. Volunteers are needed to serve in 3 hours shifts through the day, with a great need for help in the afternoons. The public is invited to join us for free from 4.30PM-7.30PM for our extended hours on Monday, July 4th. Consider volunteering with us and staying in the park after to watch the fireworks!

Basically Beethoven Concert Series

Sundays in July, 2PM-6PM
We are excited to partner with the Fine Arts Chambers Players for another Basically Beethoven concert series. Every Sunday afternoon in July we'll be hosting free music concerts in our Grand Hall. Volunteers are needed to assist with setup, tear down, greeting and in the butterfly house and garden. If you have a free Sunday afternoon or two to spare, please volunteer.

Help TDG report accurate hours and contact numbers to our Dallas County Master Gardener's every month. Remember, there's a spot on every volunteer sheet to indicate if you are a MG and your contact numbers for your volunteer shift. Record your best estimate after every volunteer shift. If you are a greenhouse volunteer, don't worry about your contacts, but please be sure to record your MG status every entry!
