Greetings!
There's never a dull moment at Texas Discovery Gardens!
Rain or shine, we are excited to welcome our member's and the public to our semi-annual Plant Sale this weekend. We can still accommodate a few more volunteers on our Saturday schedule. If you are available and willing to assist with water sales, plant loading/unloading or are a plant expert, please contact our Volunteer Manager.
Memorial Day Weekend is just a week and a half away! We are in GREAT NEED of volunteers to assist as we host a children's craft table at CityArts Festival and welcome larger than average crowds to join us on our free admission days to celebrate the holiday. If you have just 3 hours to give on Memorial Day weekend, please let us know. We would love to place you on our volunteer schedule.
Should the sun choose not to shine down on us and chase the rain clouds away from our Plant Sale this weekend, we will be hosting a Rainy Day Makeup Plant Sale on Saturday, June 4th from 10AM-2PM, open to the public. Those plants that did not sell at our regularly scheduled plant sale will be available. If you are available to volunteer during, please contact our Volunteer Manager.

Memorial Day Weekend

Noon-3:00PM
2:30PM-5:30PM
CityArts will be in our own backyard and TDG will be offering free admission during select hours on this 3-day holiday weekend. Needless to say, we're expecting large crowds! If you have 3 hours to share with TDG on your holiday weekend, we would love to have you out. Available to volunteer more longer than a 3-hour shift? Contact our volunteer coordinator directly by phone or email and let her know!

Arts & Crafts Booth @CityArts

Are you outgoing? Do you enjoy engaging with the public? Want to share your love of Texas Discovery Gardens with others?
We are in need of outgoing volunteers to represent Texas Discovery Gardens at our CityArts booth on Memorial Day Weekend. Create egg crate caterpillars and butterfly rings with children. Sign up for a shift and come early or stay after to enjoy the rest of Fair Park's CityArts Festival.

Plant Sale Raincheck

The weathermen have forecast rain clouds and storms for our Plant Sale this weekend in May. While we hope the sun chases the storm clouds away, we are busy readying ourselves for Plan B. Rain or shine, our Plant Sale this weekend will continue as scheduled, but should the rain impact sales, all plants that do not sell will be available to the public on Saturday, June 4th. We will need volunteers to serve as ticket adders, personal shoppers, water vendors, plantsperts and more. Please consider volunteering for our Rainy Day Plant Sale!

Gift Shop Inventory

The months have flown by! It's time for another Gift Shop inventory at Texas Discovery Gardens. We are seeking volunteers to join us all day on Thursday, June 2nd to assist with inventory. Calling the Detail Oriented!

Our Director of Development, Susan Lee, is in need of a detail-oriented volunteer, comfortable with excel, to assist with composing our Fall Annual Giving mail list. What Are Your Saturday Plans?

With Spring and Summer upon us, visitor traffic has increased at Texas Discovery Gardens. Consider getting in a groove and joining us to regularly volunteer for a 3-hour shift on Saturdays. Of course, we are open 7 days a week from 10AM-5PM and could use regular volunteers in all our shifts, so if another day works better with your schedule, let us know. Contact our Volunteer Manager to schedule a regular day of the week or month to volunteer at Texas Discovery Gardens. If you prefer to take things week by week, Volunteer Spot will always have the latest volunteer needs posted. Fancy Nancy Tea Party

Children's Educator, Erin Shields, is excited to bring the Fancy Nancy Series to Texas Discovery Gardens. Enrolled children will enjoy Fancy Nancy activities, tea, snack, crafts and more as they celebrate the fun children's book, "Bonjour Butterfly!" at our children's workshop. May Butterfly Plant Sale

We have room for a few more volunteers to join us at our Plant Sale, Saturday, May 21st. We are in need of volunteers with a rudimentary plant knowledge to assist with shopping and sales tickets. Volunteers are also needed in other areas to assist with water sales, crowd control, TDG membership sales and more.
