As I walk through the gardens each day, I am energized by their beauty and strength. At Texas Discovery Gardens, we show and demonstrate what can be achieved around every home, every office complex and every school -- a beautiful, sustainable, sturdy and water wise organic environment.
The impact of your gift to Texas Discovery Gardens' annual fund helps make possible the environmental education and beautification programs we offer throughout the year.
This fiscal year,
- We will teach more than 12,000 students in our EarthKeepers Children's Programs;
- We will complete the renovation of the Shakespeare Garden and showcase an Edible Garden;
- We will add educational signs throughout the gardens and renovate and expand the Children's Garden.
As many of you know, the funds we receive from memberships and admissions do not cover the costs for workshops, children's education programs or daily operation. I am writing to ask you to make a contribution to our Annual Giving Campaign. Your donation is vital to keep all of our activities and programs alive and growing.
Help us reach our Annual Giving Campaign goal of $25,000.
I understand that we all have different levels of support that we can give. For every $25, we are able to provide supplies for a day's worth of student programs. $100 provides funds to scholarship over 90 students into our butterfly house who otherwise could not participate. With $500, two permanent, weatherproof sign structures plus seasonally changing signs can be installed.
If each member and friend of Texas Discovery Gardens contributes and then asks their immediate family and friends to contribute, we will reach our goal. Please feel free to forward this letter to your extended family and friends via the forward button through Constant Contact. All donations made prior to December 31, 2010 will be tax deductible for this year's taxes.
I hope that you will join me in supporting our mission to advance our community's knowledge and involvement to restore, conserve and preserve nature in our urban environment by gardening organically and sustainably. We are all the example of the change we want to see in the world of nature.

In gratitude,
Melissa Martin
