Greetings!
Cooler nights are here, but the butterflies are still flying at Texas Discovery Gardens! We're excited about fall and are busy getting ready for our fall plant sale tomorrow. Stay tuned for a free weekend in December (and a shopping deal you won't want to miss!), our special tropical event slated for January, and the beginning of our packed 2011 calendar. A sneak peak: Texas Discovery Gardens turns 70 next year as we celebrate our charter in 1941! (The gardens and building were built in 1936 for the Texas Centennial, and we were chartered as a nonprofit in 1941).
Have a wonderful fall season,
Texas Discovery Gardens Staff

We are excited to share with you the outcome of your participation in the second annual DonorBridge Giving Day! More than $5 million was donated to local charities in 12 hours by more than 7,000 North Texans.
Texas Discovery Gardens received more than $8,000 from generous donors. For each dollar donated, we received an additional 16% from DonorBridge, which totaled $1,144.
A date has not yet been set for next year's Giving Day, but stay tuned for our planned fundraising campaign for the event. This is a great way to make your dollars stretch further!
Giving Day was developed by Communities Foundation of Texas in partnership with the Dallas Foundation and Center for Nonprofit Management. The matching funds were made possible through the generosity of the Communities Foundation of Texas, The Rees-Jones Foundation, The Meadows Foundation and an anonymous donor. The Dallas Foundation contributed funds for prize incentives given to charities throughout the day. For more information, visit donorbridgetx.org.
