WALKING TRAILS
Reston's paths are one of the community's greatest joys. Set as your goal to explore all 55 miles of paved and natural surface pathways winding throughout Reston's open spaces. Not only do these paths provide a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, they also connect neighborhoods, recreation areas and shopping centers.

RA Participates in Food Drive

Reston Association is joining forces with the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce in the first Governor's Bowl Chamber of Commerce Challenge Food Drive - a competition among select Virginia chambers of commerce and their member businesses.

The drive runs through Independence Day. At its conclusion, the chambers that collect the most food statewide will be recognized by Gov. Bob McDonnell.

You can drop off food at one of the following Reston Association collection boxes through July 2:

Member Services
12001 Sunrise Valley Drive

Nature House
11450 Glade Drive

Central Services Facilities
12250 Sunset Hills Drive

All donations will be given to the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), which will then be distributed to several nonprofits in our community (including Reston Interfaith). Ultimately, the food will be given to people in need across Fairfax County. Click here to download a list of the 10 most-wanted food items.

RA's volunteer program consists of members in our community working in a variety of capacities. Volunteers are RA's strongest line of communication with the community. Each year a diverse group of RA members donate thousands of hours to the association. Through their dedication, we are able to provide a wide range of high-quality programs, services and events that make Reston a great place to Live, Work, Play and Get Involved.

 weed

Weed Warriors Project

Native trees, ferns and wildflowers are under attack by invasive exotic plants like English Ivy, Japanese Honeysuckle and Bamboo. That is why we need warriors like you to join us in rescuing Reston's beautiful parkland from these aggressive plants.

Please spend a couple hours in our parkland protecting our forests every fourth Saturday of each month as we help restore Reston's forests to their natural state.

All projects: 10 a.m.-Noon.

Please wear long sleeves and long pants if you are allergic to poison ivy. RA will provide tools, gloves, snacks and water.

For more information, contact Community Outreach Specialist, Ha Brock, at ha@reston.org, 703-435-7986.
