At the beginning of this year, I was given a great opportunity to introduce myself to our club and to the entire Jacksonville community when our own Karen Mathis featured my profile in the Financial News and Daily Record.
I have decided to extend the same opportunity to the SBMC Officers and Board members by featuring them in our newsletter. The New York Giants won the Super Bowl XLVI last Sunday. How about our own Giants? -- Have you ever attended the Jacksonville Giants game? If you answered "No", then you can't miss this great opportunity...
The Jacksonville Giants are in their final weeks of the season and the SBMC members are invited to be special guests of our local professional basketball team. The Giants play the Panama City Dream on Saturday, February 18th at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Time: 6:00-8:30pm. www.jacksonvillegiants.com

The SBMC Spring Youth Achiever's Program is upon us.

I encourage you to become a sponsor of this event that will help Beauclerc Elementary School's Safety Patrol Program.
Your sponsorship provides the means to send the Safety Patrol children to Washington, D.C. and fund the SBMC scholarship program. This year, we are offering something new for our sponsors. For $125, each sponsor will receive the following:
- A specially designed lapel pin with the SBMC - YAP logo
- Your name and logo published in the Buzz Magazine
- Your name and logo published on the SBMC website for three months
- Your name and logo displayed every week through March during the SBMC weekly meetings

I would like to welcome our new members and remind them to attend a New Member Orientation at the San Jose Country Club this coming week, February 15th, at 11am. After the Orientation you will be inducted into the club during our regular meeting.
As an added incentive, we are offering some friendly competitions to draw new members -- at the end of February we will award $100 to the member bringing in the most guests during February; at the end of March we will award $150 to the member who has brought in the most new members for February and March combined.

TALLAHASSEE TRIP - FEBRUARY 28TH | |
February 28 is the date of our 3rd annual Tallahassee Trip. As with everything we do in the Club, this will be a very exciting and fun day. You will have the opportunity to meet your legislators and get a behind-the-scenes view of the State Capital and other buildings and offices.
We have chartered a very comfortable motor coach for the trip (with a bathroom). The price of this great trip is only $75, which includes transportation, snacks and refreshments during the trip, and lunch.
Bus seats are LIMITED, so don't miss out on this unique opportunity to visit the State Capital with your fellow SBMC members.
