PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Saturday we held the Children's Shopping Spree helping 30 children have a Christmas that they certainly otherwise would not have enjoyed.  I am amazed each year as the children always shop for others first before thinking of themselves.  Thanks to Gene Maszy for chairing this event and to Tyrone Townsend who started this for our club all the back in the mid 1980's.  A very special thank you to Mark Manship and Axel von Loewenclau for bringing office chairs from their respective companies as well as everyone else who brought items for our door prize auction last week. Through their donations and your generosity we raised $ 602 last week alone for the shopping spree.  THANK YOU!

Tuesday night marks the start of the 8 day Festival of Lights known as Chanukah.  The word itself means dedication or rededication depending upon where I looked. The Festival celebrates the triumph of light over darkness; the recapturing and rededication of a Temple which had been desecrated by invaders.  Happy Chanukah to all!

Even though all of our days seem to have fewer hours in them this time of year I hope all of you will be able to attend our last meeting of the year which is this week.  We will not be meeting on December 28 and will start again at San Jose Country Club on January 4 which will be our annual awards ceremony and installation of new Officer's and Board members.

See you Wednesday,

Ken
