PEGASUS RECEIVES $10,000 FACILITY IMPROVEMENT GRANT FROM HOME DEPOT

Home Depot LogoPegasus is proud to announce that it is the recipient of a $10,000 facility improvement grant from The Home Depot Foundation! All of the grant funds are allocated for expenditures on materials and supplies that will enhance our equine facility located at The Valenti Ranch.

Pegasus was awarded the materials grant in recognition of the therapeutic services our herd provides to our military service members and their families. We are working with the management team from the Vista Home Depot store located on Melrose Drive and our improvements are already underway in preparation for our Team Depot Day.

On April 6, 2012, 35-50 Home Depot volunteers will spend the day enhancing our facility. We are both grateful and proud to receive this generous grant from The Home Depot Foundation in recognition of the impact our herd is making in assisting our San Diego based military service members and their families!

FORD E350 CLUB WAGON VAN DONATED TO PEGASUS

Pegasus Van

Pegasus wishes to thank Mr. Steven Marshall for his very generous donation of our 12 passenger 2007 Ford E350 Club Wagon Van! This wonderful donation will make a significant difference in providing transport for our therapeutic programs and it will also elevate our profile as we travel throughout San Diego County. Mr. Marshall is our neighbor and we are very appreciative of his strong support of our project and its mission to partner horses and humans for healing!

MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT CONTINUES COLLABORATION WITH PEGASUS

Pegasus continues its collaborative work with Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. On March 20, 2012, these MCRD Marines will visit Pegasus again and help us prepare our grounds and paddocks for the April 6, 2012 Team Depot Day.

You can learn more about how we use these work details to expose our service members to our equine based services by reading a Defense Video & Imagery Distribution System article authored by Lance Corporal Eric Quintanilla.

CLOSING THOUGHTS FROM OUR PRESIDENT

am very pleased that Pegasus has been able to serve so many participants and that we have recently received our wonderful passenger van and Home Depot Foundation grant.

However, if we are to continue to provide our services, we must improve our fundraising efforts as we are significantly constrained by a lack of monetary donations. Pegasus is an all volunteer driven effort (no one is paid for their time spent operating the programs and caring for our herd) and we rely solely on the generosity of our donors to keep our project on course.

Please find it in your hearts to continue to donate money to our worthy cause so we can help our special herd "pay it forward" and aid our returning combat veterans in healing and reintegrating into their civilian lives.

With gratitude,

Gary Adler
