What do you do day-to-day?
I laugh, I work, I love... You get the idea. I thought I would attend UK to become an engineer because I wasn't particularly fond of writing or public speaking, but it seems like my career has revolved around those two areas.
What are your technical interests?
I have been fortunate to have had opportunities to work on a little bit of everything related to our profession, but my primary interests are traffic engineering and preliminary/ Phase I roadway design.
Favorites:
a. Hobbies? Before our kids were born, I enjoyed fishing and golf. After kids, I enjoy running.
b. Favorite Color? blue, naturally
c. Favorite Movie? Raiders of the Lost Ark
d. Favorite Music? My music tastes are generally pretty diverse and I enjoy anything from classical to rock to bluegrass. Just about anything that isn't pop/country.
In what capacity have you served KYSITE in the past?
Former KYSITE President (circa 2005)
Five Questions:
a. Coke or Pepsi? a hoppy beer (or Diet Coke, in a pinch)
b. Dogs or Cats? Cats (as in UK Wildcats, with 8 national championships)
c. Telephone or Email? cell phone works best for me
d. Pen or Pencil? Keyboard. I can never seem to find a pencil or pen and I will probably have to type it up later anyway.
e. Cats or Cards? see (b.) above
Other interesting information? I never learned to type. I've also worked for three "different" companies over the last 8 years, but I have not changed jobs. I started at American Consulting Engineers in January 2004 and we changed names to ENTRAN in 2007. ENTRAN joined Stantec in November 2011.
