The Changing Face of Transportation

Greetings!

The 2012 SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting was aTired great success and we hope you were part of it.  Thanks to everyone who participated in some manner whether it was part of the Local Arrangments Committee, volunteer, or as an attendee.  As with two weeks ago, this newsletter is a little light as most of our "staff" are still recovering from long hours during the meeting.

Success: 2012 SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting

After months and months of build up, it's hard to believe the 2012 SDITE / GLDITE Joint Annual Meeting is already over.  We plan on providing more follow-up over the next couple of months after we finish our recovery!

In the mean time, enjoy some photos:

Build a Bridge Over The Weekend
Provided by: Billy Garrison (GRW)

When the River Street Bridge in Boston fell into disrepair, transportation officials thought they would have to deal with detours and congestion for two years. Instead they replaced the bridge in one weekend using accelerated bridge construction. To find out more about this project and process click here.

The Affect of Having To Pee
Provided by: Billy Garrison (GRW)

We've all been there. Having to use the bathroom while stuck in traffic can be miserable. Does it affect your driving skills? A recent study hypothesizes that the affect of having to pee is equal to the affect of being drunk. To read more click here.
