The Louisville Bridges Project will have public meetings coordinated by INDOT and KYTC June 27^th and June 28^th from 4 - 8 pm. There are currently three alternatives to the bridge project. These public meetings are the beginning of several that will satisfy the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. 

• The first alternative is to build two new bridges as well as rebuild  the interchange commonly known as Spaghetti Junction. 
• The second alternative is very familiar to the first except to rebuild the interchange at a cost-saving measures.  
• The third alternative is to not build any bridges or rebuild the interchange.

The meeting locations include:

June 27^th, 2011 4 pm - 8 pm, Holiday Inn Lakeview North, Clarksville, Indiana

June 28^th, 2011, 4 pm - 8 pm, Holiday Inn Hurstbourne, Louisville, KY

For the first quarter in 2011, the US Railroad had a 10.1% decrease in accidents and incidents compared with the first quarter in 2010. This includes a decrease in train accidents by 5.3% and derailments 2%. 

The bad news is the total number of all rail related fatalities in the first quarter of 2011 increased by 6.1%. However they were ruled to be out of the railroads' control since they were considered to be caused by highway-rail or trespassing fatalities.
