Tips on Getting the Adobe PDF Results that You Want PDFs have become a standard part of our workload today. They're very helpful in getting contracts and graphic documents and other work into an unchangeable fixed format to print universally anywhere on any machine. But do your PDFs look haggard and pixilated? Here's how to resolve this issue. First of all, you need to have Adobe Acrobat to be able to make Adobe PDFs. Acrobat Reader only allows you to read the PDF document. If you don't have Acrobat and don't want to spend the money ($200+) to puchase the program, you can use Adobe's FREE online distiller at http://createpdf.adobe.com. To make the best looking PDF document, make sure that you are creating it with the resolution that matches your graphic's resolutions. If your JPEGs that are in the document are 72 dpi, don't use the default 1200 dpi to print the document. It will be choppy at best. Choose File > Print > Adobe PDF > Printer Properties > Paper Quality Tab and click on the Advanced button. In the graphic area, switch the document's graphics from 1200 dpi to 144dpi. This will: - Make the document look good on screen and when printed.
- Make the document smaller size than the 1200 dpi printing.

- GLA / OC-ALA Joint Event: A Day at the Races, Santa Anita Race Track. Afinety was proud to sponsor this fun event for our ALA friends. David Teuber and Angie Moskalenko were very happy to spend an afternoon of mingling, dining and betting on the ponies of behalf of Afinety!
