Greetings!
Summer is a great season! It is a time to relax, get out with friends and family, go swimming, host outdoor parties, have campfires...
You have put so much effort into making your yard and gardens beautiful, and now is the time to sit back and enjoy them. Maybe take a picture or two of all your hard work and email them to me. Also, keep a copy of the pictures for yourself to reference in the coming years - which flowers worked best in each location, your favourites... Here at Family Flowers - it is starting to look a little more like fall each day. Read on for more updates: |
Hardy Garden Mums are Ready!

Hardy garden mums get their name because they are easy to grow. Like other plants, they reward you if placed in the best location of your garden or yard, but they also thrive well in less than ideal conditions.
While mums will grow well in most parts of your garden, they prefer full to partial sun and good well drained soil. If you are short on space, place them in almost any area and they will grow. Chrysanthemum plants have shallow roots, so keep them well watered near the surface. Fertilizer is not required, but if you are doing your other plants, your mums would appreciate some too.
Hardy garden mums are tender perennials - meaning some do survive our Southern Ontario winters. Planting mums as soon as possible and applying a thick layer of mulch and/or leaves over the plant after it dies down will help to overwinter. 10" Patio Pot Mums $6.99 or 5 for $30 |
