 | An Argument for the Web

#4: You always use the latest and greatest version of the software.
With Web-based software you're up to date, doctor. You never need to worry about being left behind or using codes or features that are out of date. That means when new legislation or procedure codes come into play you'll already be compliant. Only one other thing could be easier and that's not having to worry about installing updates. And we do that for you, too! Call 888-910-4376 for details.

A little boy was taken to the dentist. It was discovered
that he had a cavity that would have to be filled. "Now, young man," asked the dentist, "what
kind of filling would you like for that tooth?" "Chocolate, please," replied the youngster.

Power Thought from McKenzie Management
If your practice has large
numbers of working professionals, it's virtually guaranteed that the vast
majority prefer communicating using email or text messaging. Moreover, most
working professionals keep their calendars on their computers, iPhones, and
Blackberries. They'll know immediately if they can keep that appointment and so
can your practice. Use text messaging and email to remind busy patients of
their appointments. Confirm appointments
and fill holes in a matter of minutes.

Five Risks with Traditional Backup Solutions for Dental Software
|
Special White Paper Extract
We've all
heard the saying about computers: "It's not if it will fail, but when
it will fail." Given the surety that the
computers in your dental office will fail, you are probably backing up your
data regularly. However, you may not
realize that there are risks with traditional backup solutions implemented to
backup most dental software data. Here are the five risks inherent in traditional backup
processes for dental software:
- Ooops! I'm backing up the wrong date files. When you make a backup, your software doesn't
know anything about what you want backed up, it only knows what you told it to
backup.
- I didn't know that backup tapes can "rust". The stuff on a magnetic tape can rust when exposed to humidity, can become polished after so many uses, or become corrupted by other magnetic sources and heat.
- "Off site" is my bedroom nightstand. Though taking your data home is helpful in one way, it creates a liability. Most courts would not consider a backup tape at home as
reasonable protection for personal health information.
- "I'm in a rush." Backups take time and aren't necessarily fun. With the
hustle and bustle in a busy dental practice, just forgetting isn't that uncommon.
- I need to backup the software, too? If one of your computers crash or is stolen and requires your backup, it's all too common that you
have the data, but not the software to run it.
