Greetings!

One of the reasons that we changed our name to OSOT America was because some people thought that we only shipped to troops from IL.   That was not true, although we do feel a special pride for those Illinois servicemen and women!  Our first letter today is from one of "our" sailors!

Both letters show how very much the cards/letters from the children mean to our troops. Now that school is back in session, please consider asking a teacher you know to have their class contribute some cards/letters to our organization.  It doesn't cost much, but it's value is beyond measure to our troops.

First of all I would like say thank you for the package you sent me, I received it yesterday in great condition, the items will come of great use and are very appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time and effort that everyone spent making such a great organization.

Now let me tell you about myself, my name is Jason, I have currently been in the United States Navy for 3 yrs and 5 months. I am an Aviation Boatswains Mate Fuels Petty Officer 3rd Class attached to the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) Aircraft Carrier we are currently on deployment but our homeport is in Bremerton, WA. I attached two pictures one is of our ship

and the other is a picture of myself (in the blue digitals) and the Commanding Officer of our ship (in the coveralls). We wear the Purple shirts on the Flight Deck, we are also known as "GRAPES".

In my package I received some letters from 4th grade students from Lake Forest Elementary School and 8th Grade Students from St. Pius School in Chicago, I will try and answer most of the questions they asked. I grew up in Newark, IL I played baseball and soccer most of my childhood. After middle school I transferred to Oswego High School in Oswego, IL where I graduated in 2003. I like all sorts of food, spaghetti, chicken nuggets, and of course PIZZA!!  Thought they might like that. I received another question about getting time to relax, out to sea we work between 12-17 hours a day on Sundays we get to sleep in or come into work a few hours later.. but that's if our ship doesn't receive supplies that day.  Since we are on deployment the most time we get to relax is when we pull into foreign ports. I will try to update you when I can on what ports we have been to, I think the kids might like to track that. I can't tell you when we come home due to Operational Security but I can tell you it will be next year (2012)

Again I want to thank you all for the time and effort each and every single one of you put into supporting our troops and raising the moral of all Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines. I will be glad to answer any questions that you all may have in the future. I hope that the thanks can be passed down to all the students that took time to write me a letter. It really makes a Military persons day to know we have the support of everyone back home. I take great pleasure to say that I am from Illinois and the people of Illinois support and love their Military. Thank YOU!

Thank you very much for the care packages.   We appreciate your dedication and hard work.  May God forever bless American citizens who volunteer to make deployments for soldiers a bit easier to deal with.   A simple act of kindness has a beauty of its own.

Mail call is the highlight of our day, so you can imagine how we feel when our name is called to receive mail.  We are forever grateful.  Thank you for the care package and more thanks for the thought.   The greatest thing I can thank you for is the joy you've brought.  No one is more cherished in the world than someone who lightens the burden of another.

We have moved to another location and are expected to return home in January 2012.  I'll provide names and addresses so that you can update your database.  The care packages arrived in perfect condition.  You guys did an awesome job at packing the boxes.  The items are appropriate for our needs.

A special thanks to the kids who took the time to write us.  Please let them know how much their letters mean to us.   Thank you for the love and prayers. Please continue to pray for all service members who are deployed.

Americans like you guys make us proud to serve our GREAT country!!  May God's blessings be on OSOT.  Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts.
