Greetings!

Today's first letter was not actually sent to us from a troop serving.  His mom wanted to share this with us.  We all realize how much the support means, not only to the troops, but to the families.  The kindness of strangers really does impact the troops. The power of prayer has no boundaries.

My son recently received a care package you sent to him and he was so touched.  He wrote something our it on Facebook and I'd like for you to know how very much if meant to him.  Here are his comments:

Received a package today from Operation Support Our Troops. Someone that doesn't even know me took the time to send me a package to help me out while deployed. The generosity of complete strangers has been overwhelming! Operation Support Our Troops is doing something truly great for deployed soldiers, so everyone, please support them. Getting packages downrange is like Christmas for a soldier.

Below is the e-mail I received from him that goes into a little more detail.

I received a package from Operation Support Our Troops today.  It was AMAZING!  They sent a bunch of food, A LOT of hygiene products, and even some crossword puzzles and stuff.  Additionally, they enclosed handmade cards from children (k-3rd grade).  Mom, it was heartbreaking reading these.  One kid asked if I could tell his cousin hi (I guess he's over here) and that he misses him.  Then he asked if I could bring a souvenir to him when I come spend Thanksgiving with he and his family.  The generosity of complete strangers is seriously amazing!  It really warms my heart that people I've never even met before care enough about our troops that they will go out of their way to help us out!

God bless you for all you do for our Soldiers!  Donna, mother of PFC Franklin

Then today she emailed this:

Thank you for your prayers!!!  I wonder if I could ask you to add someone to your prayer list? A young man, named Cody, who was at Basic Training with my son has recently been wounded.   He arrived in the States almost 24 hours ago and the Army was flying his parents to be with him.  Prayers for this young "warrior", as his Dad calls him, would be much appreciated.

Thank you VERY much!!!

Donna

I would like to say thank you so much for all you guys do to show your support for military personnel.  I think it's unbelievable how much everyone associated with this organization goes out of their way to put these packages together for us.   My name is Ryan, I'm a sniper with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.  I'm out here in Afghanistan and we don't have much, electricity for one!   So I don't have any way to send any pictures back, otherwise I would.   On the same note, you can imagine how happy I was, and how much I could use the package you guys sent me.   I did use everything in the package too...EVERYTHING!  Ok, Ok, I shared with my fellow Marines.  I usually do.   So the rest of the Marines in my Sniper Team also send their thanks.  THANK YOU to everyone involved in this organization, your support really reminds us that we're doing the right thing out here.   Thanks again!
