Greetings!

We can't stress enough how much the cards/letters of support that we include in our packages mean to our troops. Can you take a few minutes if you have a family reunion or a block party to ask your friends to sign a card for the troops? Or take a twin sized sheet and cut it in half, then cut each piece in half again. You will end up with four banner sized pieces. Write something like "We love our troops" or "Thank you for your service" then ask everyone to sign it. You could do this at a team practice. Let's show our troops how much we care!

All of us here at Regimental Combat Team 1 appreciate the care package. I am a Marine here in Afghanistan and it lifts my Marines spirits when we get a care package. We have been here for a little over 11 months so we are almost home. Even though it is tough out here, we love our job and country. So when we receive packages, it reminds us that people do care. Thank you all for the letters and the package.

Thank you so much for the packages sent over during my tour in Afghanistan. It was certainly a treat to receive so many goodies and especially the letters of support. I shared the wealth and gave all of my troops a little something from Illinois, which they were most grateful for. The box came in excellent condition and was full of items that helped us remind us of the treats we left at home.

Please do not send any more packages to me as I will be redeploying home on 31 August.

Once again thank you so much for all of your support, which is truly appreciated.
