Operation Support Our Troops-America
Letter of the Week:  May 30, 2011
Quick Links
Greetings!

Today was a day to remember our troops and the sacrifices that so many families have made for our nation.  We hope that you took the time to say thank you to a service member or veteran today--without them we would not enjoy the freedoms we cherish.

The first letter is from a soldier whose mom is a member of OSOT America.  She'd informed us of his new address, but wasn't sure if the other names he'd given us had changed also.   It's so important to let us know if the addresses change or the deployment is shortened so that we don't spend money on postage and end up having a returned package.   We emailed him and he responded with that information.  In addition, he told us some items that the troops can really use now.  Fortunately last weekend an Eagle Scout turned in 1500 bottles of bug spray as part of his collection!  As the weather heats up, the troops really do need these summer items.

Sorry to get back to you so late...the other names I submitted still have the same address, it's just me that changed.  Everyone has liked the packages and we've really appreciated both the snacks and practical items as well.  I've attached some pictures of the soldiers opening the boxes, made sure no name tapes are showing.

Specific Items that will come in handy are:

Sunscreen

Bug Spray (40% or more DEET)

Electrolyte Drink Powders

Fly Paper

Thanks for all that your organization does for the troops,

Joe

I write this note with gratitude for your support and thoughfulness in sending snacks, toiletries, magazines, and hygiene products for our Soldiers to use.   I am a chaplain with the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade.   Our Soldiers are very appreciative of your generosity.   They join me in expressing gratitude for your actions.

I wish to extend the opportunity to continue the relationship with the 10th CAB. The needs of our Soldiers are such that socks, hygiene products, bed sheets, razors, and other supplies are greatly desired.   We are grateful for those items you have donated and have already given them to Soldiers in our unit here at Bagram Airfield.

Above all, we covet your prayers.  The work that we must accomplish is great and we all stand in harm's way until we are home.   So pray for us and pray for the work of our Soldiers until we all come home.

Blessings,

Chaplain (Major) Bill
