Workshops are held at Legacy Pointe located at 1650 SE Holiday Crest Drive in Waukee:
Take Hickman Road (Hwy 6) west of I-35/80 for 3 miles to the intersection of 156th and Hickman Road which has a Dahls and a Walgreens. Continue west a 1/3 of a mile and turn left (south) at the SE Legacy Pointe Blvd street sign (just past Tuffy and before Earl May). Follow it around to a 3-story building. Go around to the back. When you come in the door, turn to your left and the comunity room is right there. The phone number fo Legacy Pointe is 515-987-3625.

Wednesday, February 24 (9am - 4pm) - WHAT DO I DO WITH MY SCRAPS? #2 - Bring your buckets of scraps and actually do something with them. Marge gave this workshop last year and everyone had a marvelous time. Don't miss it. She has something new.

Thursday, February 25 (9am - 4pm) - WALTZING NINE PATCH - Overcome your fear of free-hand rotary cutting. Learn about weaving, fusing, and raw-edge blocks as you experiment with color and design. Learn how piping adds that little extra pizzazz. Don't miss out making this FUNtastic quilt.

Thursday, February 25 (6pm - 9pm) - FLYING GEESE IN A BRAVE NEW WORLD - For those who cannot attend a daytime class, here is your opportunity to learn fast and no-waste methods. This workshop will help you easily recognize patterns within patterns. There are only a few spaces left in this evening class.

Wednesday, March 24 (9am - 4pm) - FINISHING SCHOOL - Learn how to make, mark and bind all sorts of edge finishes. You will make bound samples of scalloped, notched and shaped edges, ice cream cone borders, etc. Also learn prairie point edgings, mitered and rounded corners. Plus tips on perfect bindings and no-lump joint.
Important Announcement!!! - Since the waiting list for Wednesday's "Finishing School" Workshop was longer than the number of enrollees (3) for Thursday's "Bachelor Buttons" class. Darlene and I have decided to scratch "Bachelor Buttons" and offer "Finishing School" both days.

Wednesday, June 23 (9am - 4pm) - SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER* - In this class you will learn the entire process for making a miniature "gem" from the design of a block and pattern right thru to the construction process. Learn tips that will take the guesswork out of joining patches and blocks, without using pins.
Thursday, June 24 (9am - 4 pm) - TWIRLING LOGS* -George & Virginia will show you how to draft this wonderful 7" block, and you do not have to be an engineer! This is not a miniature quilt block.
*Both classes require Kit#1 which includes: (1) a seam allowance guide, (2) a 9 page booklet (for future use), and (3) the workshop pattern with all foundations, block schematic, cutting chart and a worksheet. Cost is $15 at the time of the class.

Wednesday, July 28 (9am - 4pm) - STARS IN QUILTS This workshop features 15 different star patterns. Through these patterns students will look at star blocks, layouts, sashings and different techniques to set stars in quilts.
Thursday, July 29 (9am - 4pm) - FRIENDSHIP TRIANGLES - Have a wonderful time exchanging fabrics through half square triangles. View 15 plus quilts that will inspire and encourage everyone to create beautiful projects. This workshop allows quilters to concentrate on the true meaning of quilting which is sharing and friendship.

Explore her piecing/applique method of creating sharp curves and narrow points effortlessly and with precision. This is a technique class for all skill levels.
Thursday, October 28 (9am - 4pm) - IMPROVISATIONAL CURVES - This relaxing, impromptu approach to piecing curves offers students total freedom in quiltmaking. Create several blocks of shapes (circles, ovals, curvy rectangles.....) learn manipulations and how to arrange shapes into a free-form contemporary quilt. All skill levels.
