Minnesota Twins fans have embraced Northstar Commuter Rail as one of the most convenient and cost-effective ways to get to Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. In response to high customer demand, Northstar train service will be available to all but one Twins home game for the remainder of the regular season.
Metro Transit, which operates Northstar trains from Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis, recently announced it will expand service to all weekday evening and weekend regular season home games in September and October. The 12:10 p.m. game on September 22 is the only exception, however Northstar will operate according to its regular schedule on that day. Visit Metro Transit's website for a list of games and schedules.
Northstar Link Commuter Bus between St. Cloud, Becker and Big Lake, also will be available for select Twins games on August 15, 21, 22, September 4, 5, 19, and October 3. For more information visit CatchTheLink.com or call 800-546-5010.
Your response to this service has surpassed expectations. To accommodate the extra passengers, Metro Transit has doubled to eight the number of train cars it has operated to recent games.
Passengers traveling on the Northstar Family Pass pay one low price for roundtrip Northstar train rides for up to two adults and three children ages 6 - 17. Children under five ride for free. This special rate makes riding the Northstar Line an even more cost-effective alternative to parking downtown. Remember, the Family Pass may be purchased on platforms with cash or credit cards only. Tickets for the Northstar Link are separate.
Thanks for continuing to make Northstar a success. We'll see you on board.
Sincerely,
Dan Erhart Felix Schmiesing

P.S. Thank you Northstar Line patrons. Regular weekday commuter service plus special events have already chalked up 500,000 rides and surpassed 8 million passenger miles. We're well on our way to meeting first-year ridership goals-thanks to you!
