Starting Saturday (June 12), commuters on the northern end of the Northstar Corridor will have a new bus stop in Becker and weekend service on the Northstar Link Commuter Bus. As a result, a dozen Twins games will have Link and Northstar rail service on weekends, with the first game this Sunday.
The Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA) and St. Cloud Metro Bus are implementing the changes because customers have told us that they want to use the Northstar Link bus on weekends, in particular to take advantage of Twins game trains.
Starting Monday, June 14, the first bus to leave the park and ride on Lincoln Avenue in St. Cloud will be moved to 5 a.m. Two more buses will leave at 6 and 6:30 a.m. The afternoon schedule is not affected. Starting Saturday, June 12, two new round trips between St. Cloud and Big Lake - each Saturday and Sunday - will cost $1.50 each direction.
Also starting this weekend, Northstar Link buses will stop in Becker at the city parking lot north of Highway 10 - on First Street NE at Willow Street, next to Coffee Cup Café. The cost to ride is $1, seven days a week, to either St. Cloud or Big Lake from the Becker stop.
Thank you for helping make Northstar a growing success! Full trains and buses will help show state and federal policymakers that we need to extend train service all the way to St. Cloud.
