 Pee Dee Branch News

The Florence branch of Harvest Hope is fortunate to work with compassionate and committed community partners helping to feed the hungry in the economically hard hit Pee Dee area. We'd like to thank some of our local community partners:

Florence facility manager Michael Murphy, Advisory Board member Priscilla Hickson and Board Chairman Wayne Catoe accept a $2,100 check from the Pee Dee Federal Credit Union.

Enthusiastic students from Kings Academy private school arrive loaded down with donations from a local food drive, and also lend a hand by helping out in our warehouse.

Greetings!

Spring Gift Catalog

The Harvest Hope spring gift catalog
is now open for business!

The Harvest Hope On-Line Gift Catalog provides donors the opportunity to make quick and convenient on-line donations by offering pre-set contribution amounts in the form of gifts. For example, donors can choose a donation of $9 that will feed a family of four for a week! Or donors can select a $25 gift that will provide 250 meals for a child or senior citizen. Higher donations levels include opportunities to donate $100 that will to bring a truckload of fresh produce into our warehouse, or select a $108 gift that will feed a family of four for three months!

The Gift Catalog first went live in November 2009, and generated over $10,000 in donations in its first six weeks. We're proud to bring back this phenomenal charity tool for the spring and urge you to visit at https://harvesthope.feeding-hope.org/.

Shag Extravaganza

Is there any cultural phenomenon that speaks of South Carolina like shagging?

Harvest Hope Food Bank is honored to serve as the official charity benefiting from this weekend's Capital City Shag Club Shag Extravaganza held at the Medallion Center on Garner's Ferry Road. While the Palmetto State's most enthusiastic hoofers show their stuff during the two-day dance event, they will also collect donations of money and food for Harvest Hope to help meet the incredible hunger needs we are experiencing.

The event will begin on Friday, 3/26 at 6:00 pm and the dancing doesn't stop until 1:00 am. The fun starts up again on Saturday, 3/27 at 10:30 am and lasts until 1:00 am.
For more information about the Capital City Shag Extravaganza visit the Capital City Shag Club website at www.capitalcityshagclub.com.
