Chips, Ahoy!
Shipping Fun Fact
While containerization revolutionized transportation by measures of standardization, security and efficiency, occasionally containers fall from ships.  As many as 10,000 containers can be lost at sea each year. Did you know in 2006 a container of Doritos chips lost at seawashed ashore on the North Carolina coast?  The chips were still fresh thanks to air-tight packaging and to the delight of North Carolina residents.   Containers are usually lost due to storms but in this case some still suspect the creativity of the marketing department at Doritos headquarters.

Customer Advisory
EU Advance Cargo Declaration Regulation

Please note that European Customs authorities will be introducing new regulations regarding advanced manifesting that will be effective on January 1st, 2011.  The regulation affects all export cargo to the European Union and any cargo that transships or transits through an EU port.  This also includes Freight Remaining On Board (FROB) a vessel.
