District Seeks Suggestions for Building Names
 
Are you creative? Do you have a way with words? Ankeny Community Schools is seeking suggestions regarding names for a new 8-9 middle school and elementary which will open in Prairie Trail in 2011. Parents, students and the public can visit the district Web site at www.ankenyschools.org to find a link on the home page where they can fill out a brief survey and submit their building name suggestions.

The survey will be live until December 4 when the district's facilities naming sub-committee will compile the survey results and move to the next step of recommending several top ideas to the Ankeny Board of Education.

The Ankeny Community School District will operate two secondary school systems beginning in 2013. Between now and 2013, several buildings need to be named. As a part of the process, the facilities naming sub-committee will periodically ask for community input. This is the first of several surveys on the issue of naming facilities.

Members of the community without internet access can contact the district communications office at 289-3950 to make their building name suggestions.
