We have had an exciting summer at Prairie Trail and a very busy start to fall! Beginning with the introduction of homes priced under $200,000, as well as the completion of Dean Park, our newest children's park, Precedence at Prairie Trail has become home to several families in the past few months!

cascade falls...on the way!
 By May or June of next year, the sounds of giggles and squeals will fill the air at Prairie Trail's fantastic aquatics center, Cascade Falls. This 16 acre plot of land that was generously donated by Dennis and Susan Albaugh of DRA Properties, is taking shape three blocks to the west of Prairie Trail's Precedence Park. It is co-located with the new elementary school and is just west and north of the biggest park in Prairie Trail and in Ankeny, the 46-acre Chautauqua Park. The area directly connects to the ever-expanding network of bike and walking trails. When completed, Cascade Falls will be a showpiece facility with these elements: · A 640-foot lazy river with an action channel or wave generator. · An 8-lane, 250 meter lap area. · A zero-depth area with water play features. · Several slides, including a swirl bowl. The 10-million dollar facility will include 21,000 square feet of water surface and is located within walking distance from the Precedence at Prairie Trail neighborhood! |

 The consideration given to outdoor spaces in Prairie Trail is not only admirable, it is unprecedented in new housing developments. Planners have considered every demographic: parks geared to active families with young children, parks for quite gatherings, parks for gardeners to keep thier green thumbs busy, and parks for outdoor enthusiasts. These new areas will add nearly 200 more acres of green space to Ankeny. The smallest is 1.26 acres; the largest, 46 acres. The parks are close to both residential and commercial areas, prime gathering spots for Ankeny residents. It has been exciting to see children using our newest park, Dean Park late this summer! Dean Park, which is nearly complete, features playground equipment, a basketball court, a park shelter, and a water feature and is located in the Precedence Park neighborhood.
