The Vietnamese games market revenue forecast is for growth over the next several years. The market is the largest for games revenue among the six countries Niko tracks in SE Asia. And now, it seems that inflation of the cost of living has given way to the Vietnam government stating a decree to raise the minimum wage in the country starting May 1st. As we continue to analyze the SEA games markets, we see Vietnam as a key ground for avid gamers and one that has significant promise for worthwhile revenue for games companies. However, there remains the problem of very stringent regulations, similar to China.

The recent ruling to allow more foreign movies into China, as long as they are in 3D, seems to be paying off for 20th Century Fox. The company launched Titanic 3D in China and in the first six days the film grossed $67 million - quite high for that market. Perhaps there is a thirst for international digital content after all?

Perfect World derives 25% of its online games services revenue from overseas licenses and game operations. Now the company wants to help other online game companies also do cross-border business, as it has introduced its Perfect World Import & Export Platform (PWIE). According to a recent article, the platform is intended to provide a one-stop service for the exporting of Chinese online games and to lead Chinese online game companies' development and operations teams into the overseas online game market. But, the article does not mention how it will help foreign companies enter China so the "import" function must be to import games into countries where Perfect World already has established its own operations, such as the United States.
