In a move that both substantiates the potential of mobile and SNS games in China, and begs the question of why he was transferred from his post as President of Shanda Games to a different post within Shanda Interactive a couple months ago, Mr. Ling Hai has resigned from Shanda to start a new mobile games and SNS company called Hudie Hudong, or "butterfly interactive." This news is from the Marbridge Daily, who in turn got it from Tencent Tech.

A battle is underway as Apple firmly defends its use of the name and Proview sues them for using it. Meanwhile, iPads are being pulled off of shelves and they had been by far the most popular tablet in China since launch as well as a strong platform for mobile games.

Amazon is rumored to be entering the games industry as a digital distribution platform, or perhaps as a payments solution provider, among several other possible scenarios for games. If the company does become a digital games distributor, then China would be a prime market. Amazon has set up a 90,000 square meter logistics base in Tianjin and is already active in China.
