As of this week South Korea, China and Vietnam have curfews for teenage gamers who play online games late at night. Each country has its own policy and age limits, but it seems to be a trend that may catch on globally to prevent youth from obsessive game playing that could potentially endanger their health.

RIM launched two new smartphones - the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380 - in Indonesia on Friday before launching them anywhere else in the world. Indonesia is BlackBerry crazed. In fact, people there ask for one's "BBN" rather than phone number when exchanging contact information. Indonesia is a hot spot for growth in online games. Game developers interested there should understand that the PC platform and BlackBerry are critical to conquer, whereas iPhones are less popular there.

Japanese mobile and social games platform giant DeNA agreed to enter a strategic partnership with Vietnam's leading online game and social games operator VNG (formerly Vinagame) to bring VNG's social games exclusively through Mobage, DeNA's global social gaming platform. This event highlights the up and coming nature of Vietnam's online games industry as a key market for gamers and development within Southeast Asia.
