Niko's observation from DICE this week is that while game developers fully grasp the importance of online games, they don't yet really grasp the way to plan, create, build and distribute games for emerging markets. Mike Yuen of Zeebo offered a presentation with a good perspective that emphasized knowing the local audience and regulatory and infrastructure realities. Some other presenters seemed very stuck in a mindset that the rest of the world should behave the way the U.S. does.
