Welcome to Niko News, just part of the market intelligence experience offered  to help you better understand the thriving video game market of China.

Niko Partners is the premier provider of market intelligence and custom research services on China's video game industry. There are more than 60 million Chinese gamers eager to play hit titles on systems with the latest technologies. With Niko Partners market intelligence services, you can get to know these gamers, find Chinese partners, and use our actionable market data to build and execute your strategic plan.

As 2009 comes to a close, Niko Partners would like to say thank you to all of the readers of our newsletter, all of our clients, and all of diligent people worldwide who continue to pursue success in China's video game market.

This year was notable in that most of the activity in China's game market was politically driven. It seems as though the Ministry of Culture has ended up with ultimate authority in the online games sector, so we will watch for more news from that ministry as well as from GAPP, MII, and SARFT.

In spite of the challenging environment for game companies and game hardware companies, Chinese gamers are committed to digital entertainment and we forecast double digit growth in revenue in at least each of the next five years. For now, we estimate that 2009 ended up at approximately $3.65 billion in revenue, up from $2.75 billion in 2008, and next year will be strong again.

Happy Holidays to you all, and look for our first newsletter of 2009 in early January. Please follow us on Twitter too under nikochina!
