Humpback, Southern Right, Minke and Blue Whales use our little corner of the world as a nursery, playground and rest haven during their migration up and down the coast each year.
They are often as curious about us as we are about them, coming close to the boat to check us out. Both Dolphins and Seals are also regularly sighted during our tours.
August is just about the most exciting time of the year down here in the South West of WA.
It's the month when Humpback, Southern Right, Minke and Blue Whales install themselves in our little corner of the world and our celebrated Whale Watching industry moves into top gear.
The whales use warmer waters off our Geographe Bay to give birth, play and rest during their long migration up and down the coast each year.
Often, they are as curious about us as we are about them which ensures hundreds of visitors to our region every year experience the exhilaration of coming face to face with a giant whale.
And what better people to provide that experience than a family who have been fishing commercially in the South West for 35 years?
Dean and Sandy Jensen run Legend Charters and they know local waterways like the back of their hands.
Daily whale watching cruises aboard the Santosha run between June and November, weather permitting of course!
Skipper Dean is offering Abbey Beach VIPs like you the chance to experience a close encounter with whales via his family-friendly Legend Charter service.
And he's throwing in a FREE collection of photos captured from the Santosha over the past year worth $15. All you have to do is show your Abbey Keycard when boarding.
For tour details and to make a booking visit the Legend Charters website. |
