Dear
Are you a person that adores food?
Do you love cooking up a storm, discovering new taste sensations and just plain indulgence?
After all, its winter, its freezing (!) and I reckon there's no better time to be seduced by awesome food.
So get ready foodies. This edition of abbEyNEWS is for you. Our Margaret River region is highly regarded in food circles and we're about to show you why.
Start thinking about a heart-warming, food-inspired trip to Abbey and in the meantime... Try not to get any drool on your keyboard!
First stop: Providore Margaret River
It's a café, food store, winery and olive grove supplied by its own orchard and vegetable garden. And between us, they're obsessed with FRESH. It was rated in the April 2010 edition of Australian Traveller Magazine by a team of Internationally renowned experts including Matt Moran, Maggie Beer and Simon Johnson as one of Australia's top 100 Gourmet Experiences.
Next stop: Margaret River Marron Farm
The native freshwater species of crayfish called Marron is only found in our part of the world. They've been breeding them at the Margaret River Marron Farm since 1976 using an abundant pure water supply from nearby State Forest. Marron are excellent eating - much like a lobster! Their great taste and scarce supply has enabled marron to attract a label for luxury. You'll find it on the menu at our fine dining Brasserie Restaurant.
Last stop: Margaret River Venison
Here you can visit the Farm Shop and sample the products. Margaret River Venison holds a premium position in the marketplace, and for good reason. It too, is on the menu at our Brasserie Restaurant.
