Big news! It won't be long before the whales start heading south again soooo we think it's a great time for you to do the same.

Our friends in the Whale Watching business tell us the Humpback and Southern Right Whales have settled in Flinders Bay, Augusta over the past few months.

Apparently they prefer warmer waters off the West Australian coast for breeding to the freezing temperatures around Antarctica - and who could blame them?

Next month is a busy time for Whale Watching around here as the giant mammals begin their southern migration to Antarctica for summer feeding.

It's a truly magnificent sight to see large numbers of cows and calves in our Geographe Bay which provides calm and protected waters for the weary young.

Some privileged passengers on board local charter services during Spring have even heard the enchanting "whale song".
