This is the most critical week ever for the future of trails, biking and walking!!Debate on a new transportation bill begins Tuesday in the House and should take place later in the week in the Senate.
Here's what you can do today.
1.Kill the House bill.Contact your Representative.Tell him or her to VOTE AGAINST the House transportation bill, H.R. 7. This bill is beyond fixing. It eliminates dedicated funding for the Transportation Enhancements and Safe Routes to School programs as well as funding for rail and canal trails and state DOT bicycle pedestrian coordinators. Learnmore.
2.Amend the Senate bill.Contact Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and tell them to support the Cardin-Cochran and the Klobuchar amendments to MAP-21.These amendments restore dedicated funding for the Recreational Trails program and ensure local input to Transportation Enhancements and Safe Routes to School projects.
We can't save trails funding without your help.
Thank you!
