Summer Theatre Family
Who's coming back?
Summer Theatre is closing in with the company arriving in just two months. Tibbits regulars are always eager to find out who's returning; what familiar faces they'll see on stage. So here's your first glimpse of the acting company...
Opening the season in the musical revue "On Broadway" you'll see returnees Brian Sage, Tiffany Wiesend and Ryan McDonald. Brian has spent more than a dozen years with Tibbits with a host of memorable roles including "Room Service" and going as far back as "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Last summer Brian stood out as Margaret Mead in "Hair" and the recreation of his role in "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change." Tiffany shined as the lead in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," the pregnant one in "Hair," and one of the foursome in "I Love You..." Ryan played opposite Tiffany in "Gentlemen" and was part of the tribe in "Hair."
Alison Gritz and Timothy Fuchs return to take the leads in "Crazy for You." You'll remember Alison as Lorelli''s friend in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," as one of the female leads in "I Love You," as well as one of the tribe in "Hair." You may also remember her from the title role in "Sweet Charity." Tim was also in "Hair" and in "Gentlemen" as the second male lead, memorable for his dancing. Gloria Logan, a true Tibbits regular, returns for this show. Last summer she played the grandmother in "Leading Ladies." Past shows have included "Grace and Glorie," "Patricia Polacco's Union City," "Picnic," and "Steel Magnolias."
Several of Tibbits' favorite funny guys return for the farce "Run For Your Wife" including Brian Sage, Greg Pragel and Paul Kerr. You'll remember Greg as the minister in "Leading Ladies" and Woof in "Hair." Paul has been coming to Coldwater on and off since 1988 and has made an impression with roles in "Forum," "The Foreigner," "Arsenic and Old Lace," to name just a few. Kiersten Vorheis will also be returning after a few of year hiatus. Her memorable Tibbits roles include the Widow Corney in "Oliver," and "Sweet Charity"'s friend Nickie. "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" features an ensemble cast which includes returnees Timothy Fuchs, Greg Pragel, Brian Sage, Alison Gritz, Tiffany Wiesend, Jared Wietbrock and Charles Burr. Jared filled in the company last summer and performed in the three Popcorn theatre shows. Charles Burr is, of course, well known as the Artistic Director introducing the season at the opening of every summer show and for numerous roles over his 25 plus years with Tibbits. Last summer you saw him as one of the silly Frenchmen in "Gentlemen." Other recent shows have included "Room Service" and Fagin in "Oliver."
Also returning to fill in the company are Kierstin Elliott and Orion Silvertree. The new members of this summer's acting company are Dick Baker Aisling Halpin, Amy Lamberti, Katie Quigley, Douglas Robbins. We welcome them all as they join the Tibbits family.

Doin' Time at Tibbits
Tibbits Boosters celebrated the contributions of its volunteers at a reception on stage last Tuesday. More than 75 volunteers, staff and board members attended the event with the purpose of thanking the 351 Tibbits volunteers for their hours of donated service over the past years.
Sabrina Aughenbaugh was awarded Tibbits 2010 Volunteer of the Year recognizing her devotion as coordinator of the ushers for Tibbits Summer Theatre over the past 20 years. She also received pins for 300 hours of service.
Tibbits volunteers were called before the bench to face Judge David Coyle as he dealt out "sentences" for the number of hours of work and outstanding service. Volunteers who attended and "served" more than100 hours received pins. They were Opal Adams, Lorraine Brooks, Betty Dearing, Evelyn Church, Elizabeth Grace, Randall Hazelbaker, Debbi Jersey, Ruby Kerns, Helen Lawrence, Betty Malovey, Vera Renshaw, Georgann Reppert and Grace Reynolds. Volunteers who received pins for 200 hours of service were Sharon Duchi-Bloom and Shirley Easterday. Shirley began ushering with the first summer season back in 1963.
One pin for more than 700 hours of volunteer service was given to Tibbits Booster President Diane Riegel.
Opera house volunteers do all sorts of "jobs" at the theatre from ushering, office work, gardening, painting, cooking, installing carpet, electrical; even picking up celebrities at airports. They are key to all Tibbits does. To become a volunteer call the Tibbits at 517-278-6029 or go to Volunteer.
