Summer Theatre 2010
Spend the Summer at Tibbits
Summer Theatre preparation is underway. Shows have been chosen, season ticket holders will soon be receiving their renewal notices, and Artistic Director, Charles Burr has started the audition process for the summer company. He returned from the United Professional Theatre Auditions in Memphis this week with the following assessment.
"I am always pleased how many actors I meet at the auditions who have never worked for us who tell me they have heard such good things about the Tibbits. I hire good working actors. They may not have done television yet, or been on Broadway, but they are working constantly, honing their craft. And good working actors talk. One of the prime topics of conversation: "Where did you work last?"; "Was it a good show?"; and "How were you treated by the company?" I am happy to say Tibbits Summer Theatre scores very well with all three. We do shows actors, as well as audiences, want to see. Actors are very proud of the time we take to get a show "right." Having worked for many other theatres myself, I know that all employees are treated very well here. Coldwater should be very proud of how the word is spreading that "you should definitely spend a summer at the Tibbits."

Not For Women Only
Men and women will love this exciting and thoroughly entertaining musical revue about women, their lives and the people they love.......and hate. It's filled with songs from Broadway, Off-Broadway, cabaret, jazz, pop and country. A little sassy, a lot of fun, a little naughty, but really nice!
You won't want to miss the three West Michigan favorites Kim Mercantante, Carol Black and Francesca Amari. Musical director Wright McCargar offers songs for everyone who has ever been around a woman.

Call For Artists

Tibbits is once again looking for artists to create and donate the images for its summer shows. By using art contributed by regional artists over the past few years, Tibbits has created a fun and recognizable look for Summer Theatre. The images will be used on the summer theatre brochure (20,000 printed), as the program cover for the specific show (3000 printed), on the website and on posters and flyers at the theatre and around the region. Some posters are also printed and available for sale in the Tibbits gift shop. For details on what's accepted, the benefits for artists and information on the shows go to Call for Artists. | |
