| Greetings! | |
A cancer diagnosis is traumatic for anyone. It can be especially challenging for those who are also experiencing language or cultural barriers. So Cancer Support Community is honored to provide programs in Spanish for underserved Latinos.
Our Latino Cancer Support Services target underserved, uninsured Latino immigrants and their families who are impacted by cancer. All of the families served in these programs are low income. For several years, we have offered them in communities throughout the East Bay. And we are now pleased to begin providing services in the Silicon Valley. Please see the news below or feel welcome to call Cyndi Lezcano at 1.800.556.0477 for more information.
Regardless of our language or culture, the experience of cancer brings new financial difficulties for most of us. We may have treatment costs or expensive medications, or endure a loss of income due to medical leave or longer-term disability. That's why all of the programs and services at Cancer Support Community are always free of charge, so they can be readily accessible in any family's greatest time of need. This is made possible by grants, sponsorships and your donations. We are so grateful for your support.
For more information, please see our East Bay and
Silicon Valley program calendars, call us at 925.933.0107 or 650.968.5000, or visit our website at www.cancersupportcommunity.net.

Wishing you wellness,

James Bouquin

Have you ever searched for words for a patient, a friend, or family member who is ill? Have you ever felt uncomfortable, or disconnected from someone who is suffering? Do you want to enhance your skills to respond to people when they are dying, or to those who are grieving? Additionally, we are beginning monthly Spanish language support groups at two locations -- Christ the King Catholic Church in San Jose and Cancer Support Community in Silicon Valley. The groups are facilitated by Jana Schustack, MFT. They are a place for people to receive education, share information and meet with others who know what it is like to cope with cancer in the family.
