Our Fireworks were a blast to say the least!
There just seems to be an endless supply of waterfront
photo opportunities this summer! From the colorful fireworks to the awesome sight of the Port Huron- Mackinac sailboat race, the breakwall and the beaches have been graced with friends, neighbors, visitors, and family. It is truly our greatest treasure!

July is yet to close. We still have the Art Festival, Museum Crafters' Fair, and Summer Festival awaiting our excitement. August seems set for those loving the antique side of life, with our Antique Boat Show and Antique Trail Sale. Treasures seem to exist off our shores and right in town too!

Port Sanilac's 2012 Fireworks Show...
A Real Blast!
Every year, the Port Sanilac community comes together to raise money for our incredible fireworks show. This year was yet another blast of a show, with ooohs and aaaahs from the Harbor to the Breakwall to spectators on Uri's balcony.

Thanks to everyone who helped make our Independence Day festivities a true success!

A special thank you to Sue Jacobs for coordinating the fundraising efforts that included canvasing neighbors, the 4-corners collections, and the donation boxes around the area. Another special thank you to Jeanne Harper and the Blue Water Bar & Grill for sponsoring the 4th of July Golf Outing to raise funds for the show.

Also, thank you to Gale Travis for organizing the Independence Day Parade and filling the streets with food and fun! As well as to Susan Gill, for bringing in the live music to Harbor Park that kept quite a crowd entertained and tappin' their toes!

Last, but not least, thanks to our area businesses and residents that volunteered for the 4-corners collection, put out donation boxes, and walked door-to-door, helping to raise the funds for such an awe-inspiring light show in the sky!

We couldn't do it without each and every one of you! Thank you!

Sunset Cruise and Big Band Sounds added to the 2012 Port Sanilac Antique Boat Show!

PORT SANILAC - Remember the days of mahogany decks and rumbling tailpipes cruising the rivers and lakes? They are returning to Port Sanilac!

Port Sanilac is hosting its 4th Annual Antique Boat Show, Friday and Saturday, August 10 and 11. This two-day event is a showcase for wooden-hulled and classic boats from Michigan and Ontario.

This year's show is again sponsored with the cooperation of the Michigan Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, part of the national Antique Classic Boat Society (ACBS). Funding was also made possible through the Port Sanilac DDA and a donation from the Port Sanilac Harbor Commission. Corporate sponsorships from Blue Water Sports Bar & Grill, Tubbs Brothers Ford Mercury Chrysler Jeep, and Hagerty Insurance, Vintage Marine Division add to the success of this year's schedule.

"Each year we try to add a new attraction," noted Bill Thomas, event chair. "This year, thanks to Music at the Harbor, Bill Dembrock and his Big Band will play great swing-dance tunes from the '30s, '40s, and '50s on Saturday night."

The Antique Boat Show, an in-water and on-land display of boats are complimented again this year with
other antiques on wheels.

The Port Sanilac Vintage Motorcycle Rally, sponsored by Michigan Vintage & Retro, promises to be much larger than last year. "We already have heard from a number of vintage bike owners that have reserved the date to be a part of this year's show," noted coordinator, Dick Roth of Caseville.
