Fishing Season Already?

Stop in the Port Sanilac Bait & Sporting Goods shop and they'll tell you its true...there's great fishing out there!
The lake has been speckled with fishing boats. The guys down at the bait shop have been open, providing those getting a start on the fishing season with everything they need.

$13.75 for adults, $8.25 for 6-10 years old, and 5 and under free. Menu ham carving station bacon sausage scrambled eggs home fries fruit tray
cranberry orange scones
pan seared chicken with a caper mushroom sauce
oven roasted whitefish with a citrus cream sauce
green beans tossed salad

Folk Music, Farming, and Pow Wows
This season is bringing new and exciting events to Port Sanilac thanks to the Sanilac County Historic M useum & Village.
SAMFest, The Sanilac American Music Festival, welcomes americana in music Join the musicians around town, at the Museum, and down to the Harbor in early July.
The new Farm & Agricultural Weekend showcases our agricultural heritage with tractors, displays, food, and demonstrations July 14-15. Get into town on Friday and visit the Port Sanilac Farmers' Market for Farm Days. Our local vendors will be bringing a day in the farming life to market!
If you have ever been the the Black River Pow Wow, plan to visit Port Sanilac August 25-26th. The Museum is hosting their first annual Thumb Pow Wow, paying tribute to the native tribes that lived off that very land we farm today.

Growing New Events in 2012 at the Farmers' Market!
The Port Sanilac Farmers' Market has set it's dates for the 2012 season! New Fundraisers are sure to treat your tastebuds right and live music will keep you dancing all the way back to your dinner table! 
Friday Farmers' Market will run May 25-October 12 (3-7pm.)
Saturday Farmers' Market will run June 16-Sept. 8 (Noon-4pm.)
Come join us for Farm Days on July 13th! The market will be feature farming displays from our agricultural vendors...including a few furry and/or feathered friends! The weekend will be chock full of farming fun in coordination with the Historical Museum's Farm & Agricultural Weekend.
New fundraisers will include Strawberry Days on Saturday June 23 with homemade delights baked by our farmers for sale featuring the big, beautiful, and nutritious strawberry! Get that sweet tooth ready! In July, help us celebrate the blueberry at the Red, White, and Blueberries fundraiser Saturday, July 28th. Come by for a blueberry treat while enjoying the Summer Festival. Our Annual Pig Roast returns Friday, August 10 with the pig and the roasting provided by our very own Future Farmers of America kids. Labor Day closes out our fundraising season with our new Great American Corn and Weinie Roast. Sit down, grab a cob, and enjoy!

Participate in a Real Ghost Hunt at the Sanilac County Historical Village & Museum!

Want to "experience" a real live ghost hunt? Join us for a Paranormal Experience at the museum Saturday, May 5, 7:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.
South East Michigan Paranormal Society from Chesterfield Twp. will be conducting the "ghost hunt". You will get a quick tour of the mansion and a short history of the Loop -Harrison Family, plus an explanation of the equipment used. We will be in the mansion, church, school house, train depot and, possibly, the Barn Theatre. You will be able to use S.E.M.P.S. equipment.

Get your Golfclubs!
Get ready for the 2nd Annual Golf Scramble at Huron Shores Golf Club on June 14, 2012. Organized by the Blue Water Sports Bar & Grill, all proceeds will go to benefit the Port S anilac 4th of July festivities!
The event gets swinging on Flag Day- Thursday, June 14th. Stop in to the Blue Water Sports Bar & Grill to sign up prior to the event. Registration is at 9am at the Golf Club with a 10am start. Food and drinks are available during the outing with Dinner to follow at the Blue Water Sports Bar from 4-6pm. Cost is $65 per person for a team of 4.
There's no need to be a pro! Grab your pals, borrow some clubs, and get out there! Compete for 'Closest to the Pin', 'Longest Drive' and in the 'Putting Contest'. Don't pass up the 50/50 raffle either! Port Sanilac is known for it's Fireworks Show..so come out, show your support, and help make this years show bigger and brighter that ever before!

April 21, 2012 'Recipes from Famous Chefs and a Hidden Gem' Home Dinner- Recipes from Chef Caesar Cardini. These fundraiser dinners are hosted in private homes. Meet new people and make new friends over a gourmet meal. Dinners start at 6:00pm with wine and appetizers. Dinner is served at 6:30 sharp. Reservations are needed.
