All the Good News about Port Sanilac

Greetings!
It was a lovely winter, but we are ready for the season change.  Spring has arrived!  The air is getting warmer and the flowers are beginning to bloom.  Boats are in the harbor and fishermen are out daily!  The spring in Port Sanilac is lovely, take some time out to walk along the beach or through the countryside.

Huron Shores Golf Course

Are you looking for a great way to spend the day in Port Sanilac?  Then look no further than the Huron Shores Golf Course.

Huron Shores Golf Course is a hidden jewel of the Thumb region.  This premium 18 hole golf course is a real treat to golfers of all levels.  Located just North of Port Sanilac on M-25, this golf course offers a challenging game in a truly picturesque setting.  The course is open to the public.

Manager, Matt Alexander explains, "Because of our location next to the lake and the up and down topography of the course, Huron Shores Golf Course presents new challenges daily.  The turn of the winds off the Lake will surprise you every time you play."  Matt says, "This course is never the same two days in a row."

Along with a challenging and exciting game of golf, the course offers unique scenery.  Huron Shores Golf Course is the only course in the region with Lake views from the course and the clubhouse.

The clubhouse offers its own delights.  In the clubhouse you will find not only a well appointed pro shop, but also a fantastic restaurant, featuring the area's "best burger" and local perch.  The Huron Shores Golf Course restaurant is the perfect place to have lunch after a round or to come out to with the family for a relaxing dinner.  The restaurant also features a full bar, so you can enjoy a cocktail with your meal.

The Huron Shores Golf Course offers a wide variety of events and leagues.  There is a weekly night league that is open to the public.  There are also a number of tournaments and events throughout the season, including Mens, Womens, and Mixed invitationals in August.  Contact the course at 810-622-9961 for information and registration information.

This year marks the 85th anniversary for Huron Shores Golf Club.  Originally opened in 1925, Huron Shores Golf Club is a privately owned and managed club that is open to the public.  Private memberships are available.  Members enjoy additional "perks" that are not available to the general public.  These include special social events throughout the year.  Be sure to ask the manager, Matt Alexander, what membership can do for you.
