Port Sanilac On Ice Festival Heats Up

Saturday, February 5th is coming up fast and the preparations for the Port Sanilac On Ice Festival are in full swing.  Local Chef, Sean O'Rourke has been out carving ice statues all week, the snow plows have been using our snow storm bounty to build sledding hills, and our local restaurants are preparing goodies all for the festival.

Ice Sculptures

The Port Sanilac on Ice Festival is Saturday, February 5th!  Beginning at 11 am our local restaurants will be serving chilis and stews and Willis' Marketplace will have coffee and hot chocolate all to keep to you warm while you tour the fantastic Disney ice statues.

Bring your sleds and let your little ones race down the "giant" hill that has been built just for their enjoyment.  Also bring along snowman accessories and compete in the snowman building contest!  The snow has been light and fluffy so you may want to bring a spray bottle of water to help increase the "stickiness" of the snow while you're building.

At 1 pm take some time out from the sledding to watch Sean O'Rourke carve an ice statue.  He will give a full demonstration with an explanation of techniques!

At 2 pm wander into the Barn Theatre for a winter concert.  The band will delight you with their melodies.

Anytime during the day head down to the Port Sanilac Harbor to join in the ice fishing competition.

This event is free to the public and has been sponsored by our local businesses.  Special thanks to each of the businesses that purchased an ice block for carving:  Archie Thomas Realty, Bake Krazy Bakery, the Blue Water Sports Bar and Grill, Exchange State Bank, Port Sanilac Marina, Port Sanilac Party Store, Raymond Hardware, the Stone Lodge, Uri's Waterfront Dining and Spirits, the Van Camp House, and Willis' Marketplace.
