| Greetings! |
Fall is fading here in Port Sanilac, but we couldn't have asked for a more glorious season. The weather remains lovely and walking along the beach is relaxing as ever. The large events of our summer months have passed, but there are many smaller entertainments to be had this time of year. The merchants are preparing for the holiday season with a number of special events and the Museum continues to offer concerts. Keep your eyes on the Port Sanilac website or on our Facebook page for updates on these events. Have a happy Thanksgiving from all of us in Port Sanilac; we'll see you in town!

New Neighbors in Port Sanilac | |
Many people have noticed and commented upon some new neighbors that have arrived in Port Sanilac. St. Mary Church is now home to a convent of the Sisters of the Mother of Divine Grace.
| | (left tot right) Sisters Mary Philomena, Clare Marie, Maria Inviolata, and Mary Teresita now reside at St. Mary Church in Port Sanilac. |
Sisters Mary Philomena, Clare Marie, Maria Inviolata, and Mary Teresita have come the to the Village of Port Sanilac and St. Mary Church to re-establish their order, Sisters of the Mother of Divine Grace, under the Vatican II teachings of Rome.
Originally from Spokane, Washington, the Sisters have spent the last three years studying with the Sisters of Mercy in Alma, Michigan and at the Angelicum in Rome. In October Bishop Cistone of the Diocese of Saginaw assigned the Sisters to St. Mary Parish. Sister Maria Inviolata will be acting as the Pastoral Administrator. The other Sisters have been asked by the Bishop to lead, "A call back to faith" outreach program for fallen-away Catholics and shut-ins.
The Sisters are very excited about coming to Port Sanilac. Sister Mary Teresita stated, "I was reminded of the passage, 'He leadeth me beside restful waters, He restoreth my soul,' when we were given this assignment." The Sisters are hoping to grow their order and are seeking candidates to join them in their mission.
Please take a moment to welcome these wonderful women to our community. |
