| Greetings! | |
It's leaf-peeping time in Port Sanilac and the trees have not disappointed this year. A riot of color greets visitors around every turn in the road. The beautiful weather we've been having makes color-touring even more enjoyable and the sky over the lake is gorgeous! It's a great time to take a quiet drive through the Thumb. Stop by one of the many apple orchards in the area or enjoy a wine tasting at the Blue Water Winery. Whatever type of relaxation you're seeking, Port Sanilac is the place to find it.

| Join the Harvest at the Blue Water Winery! |
It is time to start the harvest at Blue Water Winery and Vineyards. Mother Nature has been good to us this year with minimum frost damage and record GDD - over 2700. We are expecting a bumper crop with high levels of flavor and sugar content.
In response to many requests, we have reserved a few days of the harvest for customer participation. The following days are open to participants:
- Oct 14th, Oct 15th, and Oct 16th (Thursday , Friday , and Saturday) 9-4 all three days.
- Oct 21st, Oct 22nd, and Oct 23rd (Thursday, Friday , and Saturday) 9-4 all three days.
Please contact Sara, at Sara@bluewaterwinery.com for more information on registration, the required wavier, hours, scheduling, and basic rules. Let her know which date you are available and she will get you on the schedule. Space is limited, so let her know as soon as possible. She will also be the coordinator at the vineyard to complete the registration and provide participants with tools and directions for the day. For those who just want to witness the harvest and crush, our harvest work will be going on during regular business hours on the dates above and will be incorporated into the daily tours. The tasting bar - or should I say the haunted tasting bar - will be open normal hours during the harvest, of course!
A quick reminder, our hours are Thursday - Sunday, 12-5. Sunday October 31st will be the closing day for the tasting bar for 2010.
See you at the vineyard,
Connie and Steve |
