All the Good News about Port Sanilac

Greetings!
The holidays have come and gone, Port Sanilac was beautiful and peaceful again this year.  We are all blessed to be a part of this community.

Plans are now being made for the 2010 tourist season.  Committees are coming together to plan Music at the Harbor, Bark Shanty Festival, the Antique Boat Show, and all of the other events that make Port Sanilac a great place to be all summer.

If you're interested in helping to organize any of the summer events in Port Sanilac please email info@portsanilac.net and your information will be forwarded to the appropriate committee.

Have a safe and happy new year.  We'll see you soon in Port Sanilac.
Raymond Hardware - Port Sanilac's Anchor Store
Raymond Hardware Decorating CornerRaymond True Value Hardware store in Port Sanilac is truly an anchor of the downtown.  Raymond Hardware was founded by Uri Raymond in 1850 on the beach where the Port Sanilac Marina is now located.  There he sold many of the necessities of frontier life in Michigan.  Uri moved the store to its present location on Ridge Street in 1888.  It has been there ever since, helping to build and support our little town.

Purchased in 1999 by Judy Blaine, it is once again run as a family business.  Judy and her four children have worked hard to expand the business which now can provide everything needed to build your home.  Starting with building design, the Blaine family will give you competitive prices on everything from dry wall and siding to kitchen cupboards and bathroom fixtures.  Their unparalleled customer service will ensure that your construction experience will be a positive one.

Judy and her staff are also adept at helping customers find the "right part for the job."  If there is a particular item that you have been unable to find elsewhere Raymond Hardware will find it for you and special order it.  Judy prides herself on her ability to get whatever it is you are looking for.

Because of its history, Raymond Hardware is a common tourist stop for visitors to Port Sanilac.  As the oldest, continually operated hardware store in Michigan it is full of legend and lore.  Take a moment to ask Judy about the store's ghost.  The hardware store also offers many unique gifts to commemorate your vacation.  In their decorating corner you will find whimsical wall hangings, beautiful bird baths, and deliciously scented soy candles.

As a True Value franchise Raymond Hardware participates in the True Value Rewards Program.  Sign up at the checkout counter to start earning points toward fantastic discounts and free coupons.

Children of all ages enjoyed building bird feeders, visiting with Santa, and winning door prizes in the raffle.

Twenty five boxes of food were collected for the Project Blessing Food Pantry.
